Welcome

Micro Wedding on the Isle of Skye

In this very strange time in which we are living, Zita and Nathan had to adapt to their special day by having a micro wedding on the Isle of Skye. It's always wonderful traveling up to Scotland, but Skye was something else altogether. We witnessed the most exquisite scenery! Skye truly delivered everything we wanted as wedding videographers.

Story of the Day

Planning a wedding in 2020 has been difficult. The concern of whether your day can go ahead has led many couples to change dates, venues, and guest numbers. Zita + Nathan had originally planned on a normal wedding. Then Covid-19 happened. They knew that plans had to be adjusted and that their large wedding had to be scaled down to a micro wedding. Micro weddings are not new but are proving more popular for obvious reasons.

In this situation, Zita and Nathan knew they would have to change their day. They also knew Scotland offered the perfect opportunities for their perfect wedding. We know the sheer amount of beautiful venues Scotland offers from our travels north of the border. Skye was everything and more. We were excited about the footage we would capture.

Wedding on Loch Coruisk

The morning was such a calm affair, with appropriate social distancing and obligatory champagne pouring. After the first look, we jaunted down to Elgol where Misty Isle Boat Trips took us to Loch Coruisk for the ceremony.

Once we arrived at our ceremony location by Loch Coruisk it was up to the celebrant Sonja from Heart and Soul Ceremonies to start the proceedings. Martyna and David from wonderful and strange were on photography duties. It was so wonderful (and not at all strange) to work alongside these two - they were great company to be around and wonderful photographers as well.

Zita and Nathan were such a joy to be around. They adjusted to the new situation with gusto and were constantly up for any of our portrait suggestions. They are definitely our kind of couple!

I loved filming this wedding. The landscape, the people, and the weather made it a fantastic experience. So if micro weddings are the new normal, then this is how to do them. Roll on to the next wedding on the Isle of Skye!

"What Stunning videography!"

"It’s amazing. Your capturing of the ceremony is beautiful, it’s so lovely to have great quality footage that we can treasure of such a special day. And I haven't even got to the video itself—breathtaking doesn't even do it justice. My husband and I were stunned and delighted by the big and little details they captured. From the sweeping landscapes to the intimate moments, all was perfectly woven together in filmic brilliance. It's brought many people to tears (including us.) We will treasure it for years to come, thank you!

So yes, I would without hesitation recommend Reel Weddings to anyone who wants their special occasion captured in the most beautiful way."
