A Borthwick Castle Wedding
Julia & Crispian had their Borthwick Castle wedding on one of those beautiful – but brisk – days in March. Their small and intimate celebration brought all the warmth that was required. It was the perfect day for Julia and Crispian.

Julia and Crispian are great lovers of travelling, and the beautiful landscape of Scotland made this the perfect place to hold their wedding. Due to the pandemic, Crispian’s parents were unable to travel from Hong Kong to join them. This meant we witnessed our first Chinese Tea ceremony via Zoom!
Borthwick Castle is situated about 30 minutes from Edinburgh, making this Scottish wedding venue a perfect choice for couples wanting their wedding accessible within the Scottish countryside. I have to admit that each time I enter the place, I am in awe! Built almost 600 years ago, Borthwick Castle possesses a rich Scottish history. It was here that Mary Queen of Scots was besieged and escaped while dressed as a page (which I honestly don’t know how possible). Maybe more famously, Oliver Cromwell attacked the castle with cannon fire and caused the large dent in the building. I love history. So thanks to the staff at Borthwick who regaled Julia and Crispian’s guests during their drinks reception.
