For their wedding at Dartmouth House Kimberley and Mungo had a wonderful day in store for everyone. During our initial emails back and forth, Kimberley told me that she has a love for the music of Cole Porter and great works of literature such as The Great Gatsby. As such, their wedding was going to be influenced by that 1920s period. We were so happy to to film their wedding and this information just made it all the more exciting!
Rather amusingly we started the day in the bridal suite where Kimberley was bobbing around to 80s rock music (with the odd Bryan Adams track thrown in for good measure). It was clear that Kimberley was going to be a fun bride! She then showed me her gorgeous Stephanie Allin wedding dress and Kate Spade shoes. The classic elegance of the two was simply perfect for the theme of her wedding. Usually there is a moment in the morning preparation where a bride will start to get anxious – not Kimberley. Or at least she didn’t show it. As you can see from the film, she was still joking around!
We were fortunate to be joined on the day by recently award winning photographer Jamie Bott – such a great and talented guy. We were also lucky to have such wonderful light, and we just had to take advantage of it. As many of you know, that low light makes us VERY happy. Later on we continued with the wedding at Dartmouth House. Now it must seem that any wedding at Dartmouth House must be awesome by default as the building has that beautiful 16th century design to create a classic English feel to the day. To bring the 1920s atmosphere to the day, Kimberley and Mungo invited the wonderful Charleston Charlies all the way down from Manchester to play at their wedding. It really added to the vibe and the guests all loved it.
It was truly wonderful being invited to capture this awesome wedding at Dartmouth House on film and we wish Kimberley and Mungo the very best as they start their new life together down in the British Virgin Isles.
